What usually decides the specification
Zone by zone, not floor by floor
Corridors and lift lobbies are abrasion problems; guest rooms behind a bedhead are not. Specifying separately usually costs less overall.
Cleaning regime
Confirm what housekeeping actually uses. Where cleaning is frequent or chemical, a protective laminate over the print is often the deciding factor.
Fire performance
Wall finishes are subject to a reaction-to-fire requirement that depends on your jurisdiction and the space, and it applies to the installed assembly of media, ink and laminate. Confirm the requirement with the project's code consultant and ask us and your print provider for the matching documentation.
Refresh and strip-out
Nonwoven substrates are chosen here because they lift in whole panels, which saves days of wall repair across a floor plate.
